Every year the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation sponsors a fundraiser called Hearts in San Francisco. A call is put out to artists to cover large hearts (5’ tall, 5’9” wide and 3’3”deep) with art. After being shown around the city, they are auctioned off and proceeds to to the hospital foundation. In 2010, fifteen mosaic artists at the Institute of Mosaic Art were invited to mosaic miniature hearts (approx 6” tall) to be auctioned at a later date. In early 2014, the miniature hearts were auctioned off and raised funds for SFGHF.  “There’s Gold Inside” was my entry.
